It seems to me that our three basic needs, for food and security and love, are so mixed and mingled and entwined that we cannot straightly think of one without the others. So it happens that when I write of hunger, I am really writing about love and the hunger for it, and warmth and the love of it and the hunger for it… and then the warmth and richness and fine reality of hunger satisfied… and it is all one. About This Quote

Studying psychology, I have realized that it is possible to be hungry, physically hungry, but still not feel love. The way to overcome the lack of love is to find a way to fill that empty space inside with anything else that will help. I believe that we need security and love and they go hand in hand. If we lack one, we tend to lack the other as well.

We cannot think of one without the others. Our society is very much food oriented. There is a lot of eating and eating and eating itself becomes a way of life as soon as we grow up.

So it happens that when I write of hunger, I am really writing about love and the hunger for it, and warmth and the love of it and the hunger for it… and then the warmth and richness and fine reality of hunger satisfied… and it is all one.
